Genuine urge and commitment to find truth; the whole universe supports the discovery of truth; working out complications of individual situation; being pulled by a force; bypassing the individual mind; surrendering as response to this force; following guided meditations as useful tool; mind’s resistance to silence; fusion of identity with mind, conditioning and upbringing; feeling the distinction between identity and pure being; psychological mind has a lot of terrifying stories which prevent from silence; unexpected pain can happen during meditations; the mind’s strong believe that it cannot be as simple as it is; consciousness as person must go through all rooms in order to come out in an empty room; grasping truth inside the heart is not so simple; something is here – but it is not a person; the pure perceiving is earlier than the notion of a perceiver; physical concepts can remove the myth of a person; no control over what the body can feel; thoughts were never the problems; any phenomenon is not stable; there is one earth but there are billions of worlds; conversing about ego projections only; the Self is something we cannot touch; being free to not being anything; slimming down to be able to go through the narrow opening; the coming back of the mind after a glimpse; do not fool around with spirituality; the help of someone who has done it during the liberation process; you have to overcome the world; suffering is instrumental in the search for truth; it is out of the painful that we grow; the intensity of pain helps to awaken what is beyond pain; underneath all there is joy; going into the issues instead of fighting them; suffering is always personal; walk away from yourself; being happy by not being concerned about future; the whole of the world in my head is out of date; find that which has no date; mind is afraid of the life that is inexplicable; we are seeing the world that we are interested in; two kinds of desire; when there is not person in work it becomes a pure expression of consciousness; relationships are fine without the ego; not knowing what it is all about; a very simple inner environment; the unbroken joy inside; the difficulty of talking about truth is misunderstanding; guided meditations are suitable to bypass the risk of being misunderstood; helping the mind to distinguish between phenomenal life and the state of presence; if the mind is able to recognize the true place the conditionings burn by themselves; immerse the mind in an atmosphere where this understanding can be established deeper, current status of Monte Sahaja; camping retreat; recommendation for retreats if being pulled towards.

This interview with Mooji was done by Reinhold in August 2011 via internet.
Mooji’s current activities of opening the Monte Sahaja satsang place in Portugal; we are what we are seeking; seeing through the misconceptions ends suffering; no teaching; truth has to be directly perceived; no labels for oneself; a move of consciousness into body and mind; human beings not responsible for this move; core belief “I am the body” as root for the relative; excitement and suffering of changeful states; great effort is spend to find some absolute state within the relative; revelations of truth happen to a large number of people; often fear comes as nothing is recognized of being meaningful; stay in observation without judging; all doubts will come but it is recommended to stay firmly with the revelation; partly living from programming; nothing wrong with the relative; desires fluctuate; underlying all desires seems to be a desire for happiness; grip of selfishness often stronger than desire for peace or joy; mind is pulled away from the transient by inner processes; fears are created by the belief “I am the body”; no fear in the natural state.
The belief “I am the body”; all spiritual practices driven by a belief “I do it for me”; reflexes to go back to something apparently knowing; teachers can help melting down superstructures of personality; mind cannot help in this process; truth transcends language and mind; truth has to ring through the mind as mind is not different from source; the person is only the mask over the beingness; personality and duality are no mistakes; duality is required for experiencing; the absolute wants to experience itself; “I am” state as the purest expression of the absolute in the manifest world; as soon as this goes through the instrument of the body some identification with the body arises and finally the belief “I am the body” arises; individuality and personality are enjoyed for a while by consciousness; questions to solve the riddle of existence arise in some; thinking versus working mind; we are the absolute; truth beyond conviction, directly experienced; suffering through lack of inner space; no object or thought have single inherent meaning; right and wrong as changing positions within the play; not anything phenomenal can be labelled constant or firm; world peace cannot be achieved through concepts of the mind; the human being has the chance to discover the space of pure being and love which is the unicity of being; there is no somebody living life there is just life itself; the self is even present in the ego.
Things are only relative according to their appropriateness; the state of being does not seem to have the job of teaching anything; it simply is; wide joy through loss of power of egoic mind; mind changes sides when truth is recognized and becomes a servant; some time of sleep seems to be necessary for truth to be to revealed; recommendation not to get busy too early; saying “yes“ to the intuitive space; be quiet with yourself; sit in the energy of the space and out of that space something will come; inexplicable power which is stronger than mind is uniquely connected with you; sit in the energy field of Satsang; opening to the all possible; make yourself available without any need; present yourself to that; no idea of the path; following the subtle impulses instead of active attempts to move; the truth is the only thing that is here; pointing to the uncreated space, prior to any movement; in the end we are not objects; fear comes as we take security from believing to be objects; the own body is a perception; jumping without a parachute into the unspeakable; no desire to shake people into awakening; when the fearful mind is lost in the infinite; removing the sense of boundaries; intuitively we know we are boundless; consciousness is sometimes no conscious of itself; any experience is natural; problems come with the tendencies to interpret around the experiences; any experiences may come but they are only tourists; the most powerful point or tool is when the mind becomes insignificant; any state apart from our natural being is very unreliable; no worry about any sensation that can happen in the body as they have no soil;
When the pure state of “I am” shines by itself the silence of pure being shines out; pure being – I am – the sense of individuality – further extensions form the world and existence; the body gives the taste of self knowledge; body mind sensations seem to be the hum of existence; everything is pervaded by the DNA of beingness; energy is playing through form and we do not have a position in that; god thinks things into existence; vital force as stream out of the absolute; uniform seeing reveals the beauty of all of it; blame, fear, shame, desires, judging go away; what remains is just the pure being; there is no single being outside of this being; the imageless ocean of pure being; status and development of the Satsang place in Monte Sahaja, Portugal; plans to travel to India coming winter.

Stay as the witness; everything can be; me is also thought; take the risk to vanish; who are we in this body? Who are we? The questions are important; fear and desire are strong forces in human expression, but are they all that matters? Unexplained love; is there a difference of I? Questions bring mind back into emptiness where peace is shining; the body gives an indication of the consciousness inside; there is not a world independent of your perception of it; the world can only be what it is when you vanish.
Saying yes to your truth beyond concept; something innocent natural in your being; consciousness uses thought but does not get intimidated by thought; hold on only to your being; becoming is a strong aspect of the mind; as the self: who needs options? Thoughts only have power with belief; the self itself as a concept; discussing existence; the reality of the ego is only standing on the reality of the self; the being is stable, just perceiving; whatever concepts you have taken in is what you believe; letting go concepts; essentially not bound to any concept; pain corresponds to the intensity of identification with concepts; constructing yourself around thoughts; take everything to emptiness; you never left emptiness; if a thought had its independent power it would have the same power to everybody; nothing means anything at all; everything is happening but there is no doer and nobody who it happens to.

What is aware of the obscuring of truth? Can that which is observing be recognized? Confusion comes with this question; Confusion is also observed; the one observing has not moved; “I am” is the root knowledge; seemingly inevitable association “I am the body”; then “you” come into existence; “I am” is the un-associated feeling of presence; even the “I am” is been observed by this non-entity; the perceiver of the “I am” must be beyond; do not try to stop mind from arising; instead: pay attention to what watches mind; dropping mind activities is exercising your natural power; be kind to yourself; many ways for disillusioning the ego thought; do not create resistance to what is; moods of consciousness; no conflict
When “I” remains pure consciousness no trouble comes; the “I” that is a ware of consciousness is the absolute; any “I” identification leads into limitation; like a mirror – it reflects what you project; to be pressed in the corner is a place to be; the story of the girl and the lion; do not turn away from the moment of being completely empty; find out who you are and discover the joy of your being; do not reject the lion on your path; the hypnosis of conditioning; get into the habit of observing identification; identification is only a phenomenon; be quiet and locate the one who is suffering; can the one who says “it is happening to me” be recognized? suffering arises when interpreting energies come up; you determine the experience; feeling superficially; we are unkind to ourselves by holding many concepts about how life should be; the one who is free does not support concepts; you are determining the depth of your experience
When you know the knowledge is dead in you; there is a self in you that cannot be known like knowledge; what cannot be manipulated and controlled? You are that; a joy that is not about anything; no concept can survive without you; all concepts report to you; when you believe you are the body you see yourself little; you are no thing; why is a very agreeable state not enough?
You can leave the world alone; watch the world without you; the manager of the existence; the witnessing of the swimming by of things confirms that you are that; life can be what it is; all movements can be allowed to happen; leave yourself alone; there is something which is not passing; let yes or no happen but don’t place your life on it; that which is beyond quality; see what is already here; search for the sense of I; subtle qualities slide away; what remains is indefinable; don’t keep any of this in your head; the pure space of being; bursts of joy come from yourself; don’t judge the bursts of joy, let them happen; put the attention on yourself and stop putting attention on the mind; give attention to what perceives the mind; say “yes” to the truth; the effortlessness of being; natural love; a wordless “yes”; nobody needs to here the “yes” except the universe; don’t mind how you feel; feel how you feel; don’t have preference for another feeling; let everything flow; feel it; welcome feeling of pain but do not identify; stay as the unattached witness; discover the immortal principle inside the mortal body.
This interview with Mooji was done by Yamika in London. This filming did Maren.
Enlightenment as effortless natural state; the person is only a costume through which the being appears; temporary removal of the sense of identity; persons who have a glimpse have not recognized their true nature not fully yet; pure intelligence that has no form; do not identify even with the subtlest; form-fullness is temporary; the Buddha place is without striving and changing; do not put things under the carpet; if you believe something deeply, you believe it into existence and have to live with it; mind is not real; all practices can be a door to evolving; the real discovery has to happen internally; conditioning to believes to be the body starts very young; willingness to look deeply into the deep roots of identity; nurturing illusions; bites help to find back to your natural place; pain of experiences helps break attachments; what if there is no next? Only when you carry an identity thoughts can be believed; real contemplation means to see that everything that arises is only appearing in the presence of something that is not arising; the space behind the thoughts; what is witnessing the appearances? Mind is working but it does not exist.
Believe and attention are your superpowers because they can create; who puts the attention? Who could one be to be carried away? Look without thought; the absence of some-thing; do not keep experiences; like a mirror that can show everything but cannot keep anything; no need to make sense of any laughing or crying; take me; a power without force; do not know what but give everything; saying “yes” to truth without drawing a picture; concept-less conclusion; use the mind to bring you beyond the mind; like space moving in space; not heavy with identity; the differences become playful; if there is no arrogance life itself will teach you on the truth.
We are the invisible inside the visible; god is playing as us; the panoramic view softens; suffering is due to unawareness of who we are; under the façade of the person there is something pure; make this knowledge available; un-associated presence; love is just when others benefit from your being; love is synonymous with your own being; one should not want something too much; painful lessons have to happen; the feeling I am arose out of the nameless; consciousness loves experiencing diversity; detachment is not cold; keep quiet and hold on to your being; the play of being and becoming; no selfishness and power to dominate; Who am I? Will evaporate the one who asks this question; only a master can push you out of you; the question “Who am I?” will burn anything that is not you; a beauty that has no form.
Anthony Paul Moo-Young, known as Mooji, was born on 29 January 1954 in Port Antonio, Jamaica. In 1969, he moved to the UK and he is presently living in Brixton, London. Anthony worked in London's 'West end' as a street portrait artist for many years, then as a painter and a stained glass artist, and later as a teacher at Brixton College. For a long time, he was well known as Tony Moo, but is now affectionately known as Mooji* by the many seekers and friends who visit him.
Mooji is a direct disciple of Sri Harilal Poonja, the renowned advaita master, or Papaji, as his followers call him. In 1987, a chance meeting with a Christian mystic was to be a life-changing encounter for Mooji. It brought him, through prayer, into the direct experience of the Divine within. Within a short period, he experienced a radical shift in consciousness so profound that outwardly, he seemed, to many who knew him, to be an entirely different person. As his spiritual consciousness awakened, a deep inner transformation began which unfolded in the form of many miraculous experiences and mystical insights. He felt a strong wind of change blowing through his life which brought with it a deep urge to surrender completely to divine will. Shortly after, he stopped teaching, left his home and began a life of quiet simplicity and surrender to the will of God as it manifested spontaneously within him. A great peace entered his being, and has remained ever since.
For the following six years, Mooji drifted in a state of spontaneous meditation oblivious to the outer world he formally knew. During these years, he lived almost penniless but was constantly absorbed in inner joy, contentment and natural meditation. Grace came in the form of his sister Julianne, who welcomed Mooji into her home with loving kindness, and afforded him the time and space he much needed to flower spiritually, without the usual pressures and demands of external life. Mooji refers to this period of his life as his "wilderness years" and speaks touchingly of a deep feeling of being "seated on the Lap of God". In many respects, these were far from easy times for Mooji, yet there is no trace of regret or remorse in his tone as he recounts these years. On the contrary, he speaks of this phase of his life as being richly blessed and abundant in grace, trust and loving devotion.
Since 1999, Mooji has been sharing satsang in the form of spontaneous encounters, retreats, satsang intensives and one-to-one meetings with the many seekers who visit him, from all parts of the world, in search of the direct experience of truth.
Presently Mooji shares satsang in Brixton, London, where he lives. He also travels regularly to Ireland, Wales, Italy and India where he conducts satsangs and retreats. He is ever open to meeting sincere seekers of truth, whatever their background.
